The Mohare Danda Trek is a community lodge trek located to the south of Poon Hill in the Annapurna region, offering an off-the-beaten-path trekking experience and splendid mountain vistas. The trek was initiated to support the local economy through tourism.
Named after the 3313-meter-high hill and a viewpoint, ‘Mohare Danda’, this easy 5-day trek provides an excellent view of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Massif and the authentic cultural experience of the Pun Magar communities. For the first 3 days, you will walk the quiet trails through beautiful villages like Banskharka and Nangi, where you will spend the night in lodges run by the local community. After spending a night in Mohare Danda, you will get back on the main trail of the GhorepaniPoon Hill Trek. Then the trail descends to Ulleri and down to Hile, where the trek ends.
The trek passes through orange farms, mixed forests of oak and rhododendrons, terraced farmlands, and vibrant villages of Pun Magar. One of the best parts of this trek is Mohare Danda (3313 M), from where you can have a majestic panorama of Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna Range. And the sunset and the sunrise views, truly mesmerizing. If you are trekking during springtime, the trails will be adorned with vivid rhododendron forests and stunning mountain views.
